Outreach in our CommunityOur Methodist Church at Sidwell Street seeks to bring its mission and the message of love that Christ embodied to individuals and groups within the local community. The church is open as a drop-in centre on a Wednesday morning - the minister is usually there together with other members of the congregation. Drop-in for a cup of coffee, a friendly chat, a cheery smile or listening ear. At Harvest and Christmas, gifts are distributed to various groups in our community.
We work with other Methodist churches to support National and International charitable work including Home and World Missions, Methodist Homes for the Aged, Action for Children, The Methodist Relief and Development Fund and the Francisco Rojas School in Peru. We engage in community outreach especially with those who use our premises for their meetings. Most recently this had included a group of Malayalam speaking people who use our hall for christian worship. |
